Background:
Built in 1970 as an infant and junior school. As numbers grew, a separate infant school was built on an adjacent site; two classrooms added later. Main school comprises three pairs of classrooms with own craft and quiet areas, fully air-conditioned information technology suite, library and staff room; interactive whiteboards in every classroom. Balanced and attractive school meals are cooked on the premises and lunches are eaten in the school hall. To ease congestion at its front gate, a new path has been built to provide another entrance. Delightful grounds with trees and hedges; three playgrounds, two marked for netball and one for teaching safe cycling. Large playing field at rear of the school with a fenced-off play area. An orienteering trail and maths trail set in the grounds. Annual development plan for long-term future of the school; future plans include more outdoor seating for children, hanging baskets and flower beds. Basic Skills Quality Mark.
